Wall Art and Couches

Im so over having nothing on my walls. Over. It.

So a couple weeks ago, the BFF (Emily) and I made some "wall tiles" copying Ballard Designs $200 wall tiles. Ours were a bit different, but just as pretty. We got the idea from what I call my "fake BFF", Sarah at Thrifty Decor Chick. Check out all the details here.

I love the colors; it ties in the blue from the hallway and (eventually) family room and the yellow from the kitchen. Whats that? I havent shown you the kitchen? Well, youll just have to wait now wont you:)
All I can see in this picture is the unfinished tearing-out-of-the-ugly-nasty-what were they thinking-door frame. And my missing chair rail, but again, a post for another day:)

And while Im doing one post I might as well do another!
This is what my couches looked like before...
My Grandma gave them to me so Im not going to look a gift horse in the mouth or anything, but they arent the most attractive things in the world. So I bought a couple slipcovers from overstock (love them!) and made some slipcovers for the pillows. And viola, there you go. Brand new pretty couches.

And, a little sneak peak of what will go on the other wall in the living room.
What a cute family I have:)
