The Joys of Tahoe

Last week Bret's brother and family were in town from Idaho!

We made the most of the week and stayed very very busy. One of the things we did was go on a bike ride at Tahoe. We rode a total of 20 miles. Elise and Michael were in a trailer (behind Rand), Braelyn and Caylee were in another trailer (behind Bret) and Alaina was on a tag a long bike (behind me).
Jena, Nolan and Susan had it easy:)

We rode a little ways and stopped at a little rest stop. The kids ran down to the beach and played with the rocks. Caylee ate a few. Part of a balanced diet.

Alaina and I with our bikes. She did so great.

I took this picture from the car while we were driving back to Carson. Tahoe is so beautiful. Its one of my favorite places on Earth.

A couple days later we went back to Tahoe for dinner on the beach.
Tahoe is so much fun in the early evening because there are WAVES!
Run! Run!!
Braelyn only liked going in the water if I was holding her, so we went in pretty far and got thrashed by the waves, we both were laughing hysterically.
After I had enough Bret took her in.
The rest of us played in the sand.

I adore this picture of Carolyn and Michael.

Rand and Alaina building a moat...I think.

See the waves!! So much fun!

Bret had a little too much fun in the waves. He went around snorkling for a while, but the waves kept drowning him.
He had a wet suit on bytheway...
While I was eating dinner I looked over in the water and saw my husband jumping the waves and diving and swimming. He looked lonely, so I joined him. It took me a while to get back in the water, but I considered it warm after going theigh high in the river water the day before!

While we had a good time in the water, all the cousins played in the sand.
And got dirty.

Um, she was tired.
And angry that we wouldnt let her eat all the sand she wanted. Or walk around the beach with her blanket...

And this is the bathtub after five very dirty kids bathed. Whew.

Its okay Tahoe, I still love you.
