Book Nook Reveal

When we got this house the garage looked like this:

There are these three neat little closets. One we made into the food storage closet, the middle one had this cool ledge in it and the third one is eventually going to be a mini office. I decided when I first laid eyes on the middle closet, it was going to be a "book nook" for the girls.

When we actually moved into the house the "book nook" looked like this:

After six months, the "book nook" is (nearly) finished.
Ready to see?

Ahhhh, love :)

On one side we have rain gutter bookshelves for the board books. They are low and Caylee can reach the ones she wants to look at.
There is even a nice comfy Thomas couch for her to lounge on (hate that it doesnt match!).
The bin is full of dress up accessories, like shoes, purses, hats etc.

On the back wall and the other side is all the dress up clothes that inundate our house. My little ones LOVE dress up. Imaginary play is pretty much all they do.
I put hooks up so they can see thier dresses and tutus and such and pick who they want to be at the moment.
There is also a mirror so they can check out how fabulous they look as they dress up.

On the upper part I put in two shelves of rain gutters.
I love rain gutter bookshelves because the girls can actually see the books.
I love the book nook because I dont have to worry about my littlest pumpkin destroying the paper books.
Though....she does climb up there occasionally, naughty girl.
We added the rail to keep everyone safe.

I love it so much. And the girls love it so much.
I still have some things to do with it like....make pillows for the upper part and recover the Thomas couch and Im thinking about redoing the curtains...

All in all, its a fun place for the girls to play and imagine, read books and relax.

I'm making Dustin make Allie a loft bed for her room. Rain gutter shelves would be perfect up there. Good work guys!! Thanks for the inspiration!
