Random Grandparent Day

So Im sitting there minding my own business eating ice cream and watching The Dick VanDyke Show and my mom calls. That was expected since I had been trying to call her all day. But then she didnt know I was trying to call her all day, so something else was up. Apparently they were in Hawthorne (about 2 1/2 hours out of Reno) for a firework convention. They wanted to know if we wanted to do something the next day (Saturday). I looked up "things to do in Fallon, NV" since that was between the two of us. I came up with two things, Lattin Farms and the bowling ally. We did both and it was an awesome fun day. I didnt tell the girls we were seeing Gramme and Papa so they were SO excited to see them.

This turkey scared the daylights out of my children. When something is really ugly and weird looking to begin with, and then it makes this strange scary gobbling sound as it comes toward you...it leaves an impression. A scary one for them, a hilarious one for me.

They did like the goats though.

They had craft booths. My mom got them all a knitted beanie (which they wore in 90 degree heat). They also got to make a little bracelet.

Then we had lunch at the park. After we are the girls played. So much fun with Gramme and Papa at the park.

After the park we headed over to the bowling ally. Which might be the tiniest bowling ally Ive ever seen.
But they had these adorable little bowling shoes in the girls' sizes.

Caylee was a champ. She especially liked to carry the balls around.

Alaina had a couple good throws, but decided to use the metal ball ramp after a while.

Cay would get SO excited every time she knocked the pins down.

The final scores. My Mom beat Caylee by 5 points, and it was last minute. What can I say, the two year old has a talent!

We had a little bit of time after we went bowling so we went to Dairy Queen for some blizzards. Yum. The girls were in heaven. They have a little play area there too, so when they were done with their ice cream they played a little more.

What a fun filled and awesome day. We are grateful for random grandparents!
