The Piano

Since Alaina started taking piano lessons we have been in the market for a piano. When Rand and Carolyn moved back into town, they decided they didnt have enough room for their piano anymore, and gave it to us! How grateful we were!

Though the piano looked alright, it was pretty badly scratched in some places and had some pieces falling off. So, naturally, I did some research and took it up as my newest project. I decided to spray paint the piano.

Here are some before pictures of the piano.

I sanded it down and primered it with gray primer.
Im not gonna lie, I really really liked the flat gray look.

But since we were envisioning a shiny black piano, I finished the job, with only a few minor set backs :)

And here are the after pictures:

While I was spraying on the clear protective coating it was getting really windy, so I tried to hurry it up. We let it sit and dry for a little while then Rand and Bret brought it in. Upon inspection I noticed a little something on the top of the piano.

A hand print. Its nice to have some memories...
Still dont know who it belongs to though.

But the guys did a good job bringing it in despite the hand print and a little ding on the front. Nothing I cant fix.

So there you have it, our painted piano.
Now if it was only in tune... :)

And I also made this. I saw it online and had been wanting to make it for a while. Finally did and I love it!
