On Nevada Day (Observed) we all headed up to the Hunter Creek Hike. Since we got a late start we had lunch right when we got there before heading out on the trail. They have a nice trail head with a picnic table so that was nice.
About this time Caylee fell down and scraped her hands up. Because she was so tired she didnt stop crying. All of a sudden she was quiet and yelled, "Its a bunny!" and pointed to this fallen tree.
So we took pictures on it.
We got about half way when the girls got tired. As we turned around, Bret fell to his knee and pulled out a ring. It was my traditional pregnancy ring, a temporary replacement for my fat prego fingers. Very sweet. And its a pretty one :)
This was the view when we turned around.
It was a pretty fun little outing. Maybe next year we will make it farther. I know the girls will love the waterfall at the end, its so beautiful and worth the hike. But I understand, when you have little legs its hard to hike three miles uphill on rocky terrain!
When we were walking back down Bret and I were chatting away and the girls were behind us. We heard them yelling and looked back just in time to see a snake slither into the bushes. The girls had a good view of it. They were super excited. It was the highlight of the hike.
Yesterday Alaina wrote a story about the hike. She even illustrated it!
