Its an annual family tradition to go brave the cold and sometimes snow to get ourselves a pretty Christmas tree. This year we went outside Markleeville. When we first got there it was snowing, but it stopped before we set out.
We bundled all the girls up so they would be comfortable.

Caylee looked too cute in her way to big snow suit.

The snow was deep. This is Nolan up to his knees.
It was thigh high in a lot of places. I got stuck a couple times and Bret had to rescue Alaina more than a few times.
About 45 minutes in, we still hadnt found a tree under 20 feet fall and the girls were getting cold and wet and tired.

So I took the girls back to the car to get warm and Bret went to find a tree. Hes so brave.

Or was I the brave one?
He found one he liked and brought it on down to load into the truck. It was a pretty tall one, since thats all there were to choose from.

Zonked out.

It was especially exciting this year because we could actually get a normal size tree! For all the years since we were married weve had to get small trees to fit in small places. This year we have a spot for a tree in a nice big warm house. Were so grateful.
