As I type this post I am listening to my adorable and much loved little 21 month old scream in her bedroom because she wants her pacifier and cant have it. I know, I'm so mean.
We are weaning her off of it.
Why? you ask? Well, shes gotten more and more attached to it the last week or so and has even been getting us up in the middle of the night wanting it. Shes been relatively unattached until recently and the getting up three times at night was the last straw.
So here I sit, listening to the sadness. I am strong though, I will not cave. That and...I threw all her pacifiers away:)
Wish us luck!

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
good luck we did it too when Josh was 18 months. not the easiest thing but very worth while.
We tried a couple of times. The first was too traumatic for us all, the second time went perfectly. Sometimes I think they need to be able to detach from them without it being a horrible experience. Hope it goes well. The crying is hard...but they'll get over it eventually.
I'm sorry! Good luck with that. I'm sure it'll get better.
Oh...that is terrible....I am sorry! I had a binki until I was 5 1/2. So I guess it is fair to say that my parents didn't have to listen to the sobs!
Oh man! I let Allie have hers back so many times. I couldn't bring myself to throw them away. It so much easier to plug the crying! Good for you and good luck!!!
