A couple weekends ago we went camping! This is the third time for Alaina, second for Sue and first for Cay.

Camping with small children is hard.

It started like this:

We stayed at Kaspian campground at TAHOE! (Woohoo, Go Tahoe!)
We got there and walked everything up to the site (its a walk in campground, not a big deal though) and started setting up things. Like the tent. Caylee liked to help, she walked all over the tent while I, I mean Bret, was setting it up. There were all these adorable little baby shoe prints all over.
She thought the dirt was especially cool.

They were getting bored waiting for dinner so Bret told them to go gather rocks and sticks.
So they gathered rocks...

Then we went on a little walk. We followed a path and we ended up here, at an old water tank thing. The girls thought it was the coolest thing in the world. Seriously, the coolest. For the rest of the trip when someone new came to the camp (Papa, Morgan, Kevin, Jena, Grandma) then they would take their hand and walked them to this water tank thing. It was very popular.

While looking for firewood Bret came across this big stick. We neglected to bring a hatchet (or matches :/ ) so he used his head and came up with a solution. He hit it against a tree to break it into pieces small enough to fit in the fire pit. Genius. It was good batting practice too.

Hmmm, one of my favorite things ever! And this one was toasted just right. I think I caught it on fire right after I took this picture though, sad story. But, the good thing about marshmallows, they are still yummy burnt to a crisp.

So, even though the children didnt sleep (and neither did I) , they were exhausted and threw lots of fits (and so did I), got really dirty and hurt themselves a bunch...it was a really fun time.
It could be possible though, that Im only saying that because it was like three weeks ago...

Love the pictures. It looks like you had a good time and a great campsite. Despite the no sleeping part!:)
