The Wall- HELP

Okay, so heres the story.
We have this wall (I hate the wall) in our house that I am stumped on what to do with. Heres the scoop.
Its a wall between the living room and the kitchen. The living room is the brown and green colors with (future) chair rail and the kitchen will be a nice calm yellow. The problem is that there isnt a place on the wall to split the colors up in the two spaces. Do you see what I mean?

(oh look you can see the line of yellow from the wall Bret tore down. And yes, I painted the entire ceiling!! Oo0, and also some random wall paper)
You can see where the floor separates the rooms (and yes they are both going...soon), but there is nothing on the wall.

(Jena is giving us her stare down)

One friend told me to continue the living room colors down the whole wall. I dont know why, but I dont want to. Maybe because I want the rooms to be their own colors.
Bret said to put a piece of molding up on the wall to separate it that way. But then I feel like there is a random piece of molding on my wall. Weird.
One of my ideas was to do some sort of decorative molding that makes a long rectangle straddling the line that separates the rooms, then put picture frames inside or something.
Another friend suggested painting the yellow all the way to the door. I like this idea...

What do you think?

I would probably leave it white and decorate it instead. Maybe pictures or colorful art of that have the colors of the 2 rooms...I dunno..good luck with that one!

I like the idea of just painting it the yellow color and not trying to make it two colors.

You should check out Rebecca's sisters blog. She did a cool column thing on the wall with paint. That might look neat or go with the yellow to the door which would be easier.

Get a big 4x8, floor to ceiling, bang on it to make it look rustic or just leave it as is and stain it! Then put it down the "line". It would be kinda like a door jam or border or...whatever. It is fun reading all the things you are doing. Good work guys. Miss you!

Janell is brilliant. I agree with her.
