Our Bunk Bed Adventure

We were blessed to get these very used bunk beds for free from some guy cleaning out his mother's garage. They were old and ugly, so we painted them. That was hard work by the way. Since we live an apartment, we painted them in the living room. Here is a little glimps into our journey with our new bunk beds.

This is Alaina standing in front of the newly painted beautiful bunk beds in the living room. She was so excited the whole time to be able to get a new bed and sleep on the top.

This is Alaina's old bed. It is actually the top bunk of a set of bunk beds, but the bottom one is MIA, never seen by us. It was a perfect transition bed for her. Im actually going to kind of miss it.

Here is Alaina and Bret taking the bed apart. She was very helpful.

Braelyn wanted to help a lot too. Here she is helping Daddy with the other side of the bed.

A few repairs and adjustments had to be made to the bed, so Bret worked in our garage, I mean, living room with the help of Braelyn. Yes, she is using a hack saw.

We finally got the bottom bunk moved into the room and set up. They both loved it and wanted to sit on it right away.

Then we got it all put together and Alaina was just beside herself to actually go up there and try it out.

As kind of a joke we just left Braelyn on the bottom bunk and acted like we were leaving her there to sleep, but she actually stayed and is trying to go to sleep. Currently it is almost 9:00 pm. They are both in their beds, talking and sneaking peaks at each other at the top of the bunk bed. We'll see how this goes. I'm just thrilled that Braelyn actually is staying in bed!

I just check on them. Alaina is whining for water and Braelyn is...ASLEEP!

How fun! We got bunk beds at the beginning of the year and I am going to have to move Tori onto the bottom bunk soon so that Ella can use the crib. I hope that Tori does as well as Braelyn in the bunk bed transition.
