Every year, (this being the second year), Alaina and I have a special day together. Last year we went to the Sacramento Zoo and Fairy Tale Town. This year I asked Alaina what she wanted to do and she told me she wanted to ride a train, the closest train doesn't start until May so we planned something else for our day. This is how it went.
We had Daddy take a picture right before we left. I asked Alaina where she would go if she could go anywhere and she said "shopping" (thats my girl) so I asked her where we should go and she said....Walmart. (of all the places).
While we were at Walmart I asked her where she wanted to go, she asked to go to the toys first. We walked around the toys and ooed and ahed, she kept asking to "borrow" things. Then I asked her where she wanted to go next and she said, "tools".
They had some fun rides that she always wants to go on when we go to Walmart so I figured since it was a special day that she could, she loved it.
After Walmart we went to the pet store. Alaina loves animals. She really liked the cats and even told me, "Mommy, we should get a kitty!" I told her to talk to Daddy.
We headed over to the library after that, its her favorite place on Earth Im pretty sure. We go weekly but there are always a ton of other children there as well. Today when we went it was calm and empty. She wanted to play with puzzles and then she played with the puppets.
After the library we went to the movie theater to see Horton Hears a Who. It was really cute and Alaina seemed to enjoy it. She kept asking me questions. "Why was he at the dentist Mommy?"
I asked her where she wanted to go eat lunch and she screamed, WENDYS! Sometimes I wonder about her....Outback, Olive Garden, the top of the Eiffel Tower?
After we were done eating, we went to Build-A-Bear. Alaina picked the doggy animal and we waited in line forever to get her stuffed. Alaina liked watching the stuffing go around in the machine and found it fascinating when she watched the guy fill up her doggy.

She got to pick a heart and give it a kiss before she put it in her doggy and had her sewn up.

We had to clean off the doggy after that, Alaina thought that was pretty neat. She liked the brush.
Then came the best part, it was finally time to get her dressed. First Alaina picked a Cinderella dress for her doggy, but it was super expensive so I told her to look for something else. What do you suppose she found? A pink tutu! She fell in love with it and dressed her doggy.
Alaina said, "Now shes a ballerina like me!"
Alaina named her doggy Chloe, which I think is pretty cute. She has a birth certificate and everything. Alaina even talks to and about Chloe like she is a real doggy. To Alaina she just might be. On our way out I took another shot of her holding her box in front of the store. Such a great idea that Build-A-Bear.
